Different market types have different characteristics. Thinner markets like Crude, Gold, Natural Gas, Dax frequently have violent, high volume moves that signal the end of a move and the market turning around and trading in the opposite direction.
These big, scary extended moves look like they will continue forever until suddenly – the market starts moving the other way.
You cannot predict these moves but you can trade them. That may sound odd, so let’s put it another way… nobody knows where these moves will end but you can still make money from trading against them. There’s more than one way to skin a cat after all and while many traders are focused only on trying to guess where the end of the move will be (and usually failing), others are quite happy taking advantage without worrying about where it ends…
