This is the final update on the licensing issues for this week. Some customers reported a connection issue (with second connections) on
We received a second update from the licensing company and tested on all platforms but paying particular attention to making additional connections once the platforms are open.
So this is the final update, I would advise all customers to move to this update prior to the server switchover on Friday.
Looking to the future, we are going to make changes to licensing.
We think the software still needs to call home but we plan to introduce a little leniency in how often it needs to do that. It'll still be necessary to call home but if "home" doesn't answer, then we'll still let you use the software for a limited period. So for example if you try to call home on Tuesday and it doesn't work but you called home fine last Friday, then it'll let you in. We need to also do this in such a way that it doesn't create a work-around for hackers.
That is our plan but you are the users, so if you can think of any issues with this, then let us know.
